Where she came from nobody knows and her name had been deleted from any documents that might name her. All that is know is her initials - M.S. Could it be Mardis Salem? This girl, dark girl, darkling, child, appears in other stories of Salems Marsh. Is she the same girl that haunts the Carnival of Terror, and the Asylum? It is up to you to decide. Over time there is a connection between the girl and Miss Grul over the creature that Miss Grul found. Finding this creature and keeping it alive is a bad omen. The dark energy under Salems Marsh was successful sending it's seed upward and into the care of Miss Grul. She would sacrifice everything for it. The Dark Energy promised her great rewards.
